Emma is a lecturer in American Studies with a particular interest in the history and politics of the US Constitution and the US Supreme Court, with a particular interest in the connections between religion and law and religion and politics in the US since 1945.. She has published on the history of separation of church and state and religious freedom in the US as well as the battles over gun control and the Second Amendment.
