Ken has made sigificant contributions to the fields of continental tectonics, particularly basement inheritance and igneous intrusion and fractured reservoir description. His work has placed Durham as a leading international group in the area of geoinformatics and structural analysis, 3D visualisation and analysis. In 2005, this led to the setting-up of the Durham Centre for Terrestrial Laser Scanning (DuTLS). He is Director of University spin-out company Geospatial Research Ltd.
